StopTout.com is Launched
StopTout is a brand new online auction community and will allow fans to sell their spare tickets in a fair and ethical manner. All tickets sold on StopTout are sold at face value, plus postage and packing unlike EBay where most people are out for a profit.
Although based in the UK, people in Australia will be able to sell or buy tickets to major sporting or musical events in the UK and other countries online too. For instance, the Ashes Test Series 2006 tickets here in Australia will be available on this site.
If you are going to the UK on holiday, it would be worth checking out the site to see if you can buy tickets to events at face value that you wouldn't otherwise have had access to.
How Does it Work?
Fans are rewarded with 'etix', a unique trade marked online currency. Fans who regularly sell their spare tickets have greater bidding power when they want to buy tickets for sold out events.
If you have a spare ticket to an event, you can post it on the site in an online auction. Other members will bid their ‘Etix’ to win the auction and the right to buy your spare ticket at the face value. At the end of the auction you get the cash for your ticket plus the amount of ‘Etix’ that the winner has bid. The ‘Etix’ get added to your account giving you more bidding power when you see a ticket listed that you want.
How to Buy Tickets
At stoptout.com all tickets are sold at face value via online auctions. The winner of the auction is the member who bids the most ‘Etix’.
At the end of the auction those 'Etix' are then transferred from the winners account into the sellers account. If you are unsuccesful in the auction no 'Etix' are removed from your account.
On joining stoptout.com you will receive 100 'Etix' that you can use instantly to bid on auctions. However you need to remember that if you win the auction those 'Etix' are removed from your account. At the end of the auction the winner will receive details on how to pay for the tickets via paypal.
Once the seller has received confirmation that the money has been paid they must post the tickets asap. You will need to have a Paypal account to buy or sell tickets.
You will be charged an administration fee of 10% (ie: GBP£10 face value = GBP£1 Admin Charge) which is the charge to keep the site running. The fee is capped at a maximum charge of GBP£5. So if the total price of your ticket's face value is over GBP£50 you will never pay more than GBP£5.
How to Sell Tickets
To sell your tickets via the online auctions you just need to create an auction by listing your ticket and choosing which day your auction will end (always allowing enough time for your buyer to pay and for you to post the ticket(s) out prior to the event).
Please take a look at the site for much more information and frequently asked questions.
